Feather & Flap

A hat for elegant ladies and hoodie-lovers, for those with permanently cold ears and people who would love to wear a hat with a feather or kitty ears –here it is! “Feather & Flap” is a super-versatile cute hat. It has a pointy rim that can be rolled or folded up or left hanging down to warm the back of your neck – there are endless possibilities. Play with it and have fun! “Feather & Flap” is the fashion-forward cousin of my “Tensfield” hats and shares a very desirable quality with its more humble family members: It can be adjusted to fit any head size during the knitting and works with any yarn you have in your stash – gauge does not matter! To make the unusual construction visible, a gradient yarn that is not too thin works best.

The knitting is very relaxed garter stitch, just back and forth with a few decreases and increases, so it is suitable for a wide range of knitting skills, including ambitious beginners with a taste for the unusual.
