Pool & Conquer
Congratulations – you’ve got one of those much-coveted skeins of Rohrspatz & Wollmeise Lacegarn (or Blend, or DK, or Pure) in your favorite colorway. Beautiful! In fact, so beautiful you are almost afraid to knit it up, because you do not know how the colors will mix and whether their beauty will be preserved in the finished object… Your answer is here: “Pool & Conquer” is a long cowl/stole that uses an innovative technique to make your yarn pool.
No counting, no swatching, no calculating. Gauge does not matter as long as you like the fabric that you are making, meaning you can use your preferred needle size. The knitting is straightforward: Garter stitch back and forth and stockinette in the round, so – apart from the occasional selvedge stitch – you will not have to purl. Very easy to knit, with an impressive effect! If you use one entire skein of Wollmeise Lacegarn, you will get a huge stole that you can wear as a scarf, a shawl and a big cowl. One skein of Wollmeise Blend or DK will result in a smaller cowl, if you have multiple skeins (make sure they match!), you can make a longer cowl and wear it as a scarf as well.
